Day 1:
Arrive Durban Int. the Hotel or Chalets in Umkomaas or Scottburgh Settle in.

Day 2:    More details & pics...
First dive (07h30) on Aliwal Shoal, this will be a shallow dive on the pinnacles to make sure everyone is happy. (Excellent dive, prolific fish life) Breakfast at the dive shop restaurant. Second dive on Aliwal (11h00), visit Raggie cave and encounter the ragged tooth shark. I regularly dive this spot and have encountered about 60 sharks of between 2 and 3meters, turtles moray eels etc etc. Back at the hotel at 14h00. Afternoon visit to Crocworld. Dinner at hotel.

Day 3:
Dive one of the two wrecks that lies of the shoal (MV Produce a molasses carrier that struck the reef in 1974 and sank in 30 meters or the Nebo that sank in 1884 in 26 meters) Breakfast, Dive 2 on Aliwal. Afternoon visit to the Natal Sharks Board, dissecting a shark and a talk on sharks. Dinner at hotel.

Day 4:
As for day 1 or 2. Many very good dive spots ranging from wall dives (27m) to caves and gullies. Afternoon. Leave for Shelley Beach and second dive spot, about 100km drive. Settle into accomadation a bush camp in close proximaty to the beach at Glenmore.

Day 5 & 6:    More details & pics...
Dive Protea Banks, 08h30. This is a deep dive 27m+ and a nitro qualification is an advantage. Encounter ragged tooth sharks in winter as well as large numbers of game fish. In summer Zambezi sharks(Bull) are seen on almost every dive, Brunch and then a choice of activities
(a) Mountain bike trial along the Umtamvuma Gorge
(b) Absail a cliff in the Umtamvuma gorge
(c) Microlight flip
(d) Whale or Dolphin watching from a boat
(e) Relax in sunshine on our beautiful beaches.
Dinner in bush camp (traditional South African dishes(braai), prepared by our hosts and me)

OPTION 1: Kruger National Park    More details & pics...
Day 7:
Kruger National Park. Depart for either Kruger National Park (10 hr trip) or Hluhluwe Game reserve (5hr trip) your choice, I would recommend Kruger. Arrive at stop over camp, dinner.

Day 8:
Depart for Kruger, morning game drive and other activities. Brunch (prepared by me) at picnic spot. Afternoon game drive. This is BIG 5 territory and we are most likely going to encounter them all. Dinner, traditional braai prepared by me. Relax next to Africa's TV (campfire).
Day 9:
As day before, add a night drive in an open Parks Board vehicle and supper will be in the camp's restaurant or in the bush prepared by Parks Board chef's (Bushbraai).

Day 10:
As day 8. Move to a different camp.


OPTION 2: Hluhluwe Game Reserve    More details & pics...
Day 7:
Hluhluwe: Arrive at rest camp and settle in. Afternoon game drive in Private Game reserve. Dinner.

Day 8 & 9:
Game drive in Hluhluwe Game Reserve. This is also big 5 country and we are likely to encounter them all. Brunch at a picnic spot. Boat ride on one of the rivers in the park. Dinner in the Bush.

Day 10:    More details & pics...
Visit Zulu Cultural Village where traditional Zulu's will entertain us in their traditions. Lunch. Visit Lake St.Lucia and go on a guided Boat ride.


Day 11:    More details & pics...
Depart for Sodwana Bay the premier dive spot in SA. (7 hrs from Kruger or 2 hrs from Hluhluwe)

Day 12 & 13:
Dive 2 mile, 5 mile or 9 mile reefs, 2 dives per day (we are now in tropical waters). Brunch at hotel, free afternoon to spend on the best beaches in the world or take a drive to Lake Sibaya for sundowners watching the Hippos come out to feed. Dinner at hotel.

Depart for Zulu Cultural Village to see how Africa's indigenous people lived. Afternoon boat cruise on Lake St. Lucia now a World Heritage site. Depart for Durban for last night in Africa.

Day 15:
Flight back to England from Durban Int.

Costs:
Package price is available on request. This package would include 15 dives, all accommodation (sharing), breakfast and dinner but exclude beverages. It includes all the transport to and from dive sites and other activities on the itinerary (about 3500 km). It also includes the hire of dive cylinders, regulators, BC's and weightbelts. Bring your own if you would prefer to do so as well as your own wetsuit (3mm in summer 5mm in winter) and mask. It does not include your flights.
